Community Garden
6 November 2010 Work begins!
On a sunny and mild November morning, a group of volunteers gathered with shears, spades, gardening gloves and rakes to begin clearing the overgrown land south of the church in preparation for Holy Trinity's new community garden. The garden, which will be visible from Lennard Road and Cator Road, will be for everyone in the community to use - for growing vegetables, or simply as a quiet place to sit and reflect.
With most of the overgrowth removed, the next stage will be to bring in a root grinder to clear the roots in order to prepare the soil for planting. Before that happens, there will need to be a big bonfire of all the cleared brambles!

Another working party took place on Saturday and a second raised bed is in place. There is still a lot of digging of weeds necessary, so if you feel like some exercise, then come along with your tools (you don't need access to the church) anytime and make a difference. Members of Meeting Point are already enjoying the produce from the first raised bed.
