Courses

Whether you've been attending Church for a while, are new to Church, or unsure about what Christianity has to offer, we have a range of courses taking place throughout the year.

We offer marriage preparation and confirmation courses, as well as Alpha.  For more information on any of our courses, please contact us.

Alpha

Our next Alpha course starts on Tuesday 27 September, for 11 weeks.  For more details, please contact Nick Read.

What is the point of life?

What happens when we die?

Is forgiveness possible?

What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?

If you’re interested in exploring what Christianity means and what Christians believe, come along to our Alpha course.  Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions.  Our next Alpha course begins on Tuesday 14 September 2010 in the evening, and will run weekly until the end of November.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha has become increasingly popular in a wide range of denominations and traditions. Wherever the course is being held, all churches use the same material but adapt it to suit their particular setting.

Everyone is welcome to join an Alpha course and people attend for a variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others may have attended church on or off all their lives, but feel they would like to have a refresher course looking at the key elements of the Christian faith.

In brief….

  • Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith is welcome
  • Learning and laughter.  It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the same time.
  • Pasta and pudding.  Eating a meal together gives people an opportunity to get to know each other.
  • Helping one another.  The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised in the talks.
  • Ask anything. Alpha is a place where any question can be raised.

What others have said about Alpha at Holy Trinity:

“I found the Alpha course helpful because it was easy to ask questions and the friendliness of the group was an inspiration in itself.” S.T. – Penge

“It was interesting to discover how the Bible passages still have so much relevance in our lives today. There was a warmth and peaceful calm throughout the whole course." D.F. – Beckenham

“We found the Alpha Course very informative and useful.  It helped in bringing us closer to God and to understand our own faith and the message of the Bible.  It also really helped us to get to know fellow members of the congregation.  It was fascinating to discuss the various topics with them and to hear their views.” S&U.- Penge.
