htb's youth group
Sundays in term-time
7pm – 8.30pm in the church (but check for details in Notes and Notices, in case we're not in church that day)
htb's is the youth group for all year 6 – year 13s. Meeting on Sundays, it's the place where you can chill out, meet your friends, play games and find out more about life as a Christian.
There's our own club room in the church – 'the den' – equipped with table tennis, table football and other games. Downstairs, we use the hall for a wide range of activities, including crafts and cooking, badminton, football and volleyball. There's also a tuck shop (very popular!).
Last summer (2009), we camped for a weekend at a Christian youth event, where we took part in worship and in adventure activities (e.g. canoeing and high ropes). Recently some of us went to Rochester Cathedral's 'Angel Space' youth event and we regularly have alternative sessions where we have a workshop, a film or a bowling evening, for example.
During most sessions there are also discussions based around the Bible and being a Christian today. The group is led by a small team of helpers, who are CRB cleared.
